Jeannie
1975-2007

Dear All

It is with great sadness that we write to inform you of the death of another very dear member of the Fauna chimpanzee family. Jeannie passed away on the evening of New Year's Day. She had been ill for several weeks, suspected of having a heart condition. In the end, she succumbed to a diseased heart.

Jeannie arrived at Fauna a very broken and fragile being. It took several years of tender loving care to help mend her spirit but her broken body never healed. Jeannie was only 31 years of age and she will be truly missed by all who loved her dearly and admired her courage.

Rest in peace Jeannie

Dear All

It is once again, with profound sadness and a deep sense of shock, that we are writing to you all to announce the tragic loss of another of the Fauna Foundation's chimpanzee residents, Billy Jo. Billy died, suddenly, on the morning of Tuesday February 14th at the young age of 37 years. The cause of Billy's death is suspected as being from a heart attack but has yet to be confirmed.

As is always the case, at Fauna, Billy's chimpanzee family were given the opportunity to pay their final respects and bid him a fond farewell. Billy will be missed tremendously by all of his family at Fauna, both non human and human. He will also be missed by the many of you that had the privilege to meet and befriend him.

Although Billy is gone his spirit lives on and leaves us all with fond memories of a wonderful character and a great friend.

Sadly,
